Distrito Esporte Clube proudly presents the Project of Historical Record of Basketball in the Federal District, an initiative created in 2012 by Professor Rubens Cavalcante Júnior with the mission of preserving and valuing the memory of basketball in the Brazilian capital.

The project brings together one of the largest collections dedicated to basketball in the federal capital, including:

• More than 10,000 photographsthat capture significant moments of the sport;
• More than 150 interviewswith key figures, such as coaches, athletes, referees, physiotherapists, and managers;
• Trophies, medals, balls, pennants, magazines, books, and historical documents;
• Original match reports and official records of games;
• More than 60,000 newspapers cuts, covering decades of sports history; and
• Rare videos that tell stories and unforgettable achievements.

This collection is a true cultural and sports heritage, keeping the history of basketball in Brasília alive and inspiring new generations. Our commitment is to ensure that this history remains accessible to researchers, athletes, fans, and the entire community.

In addition, Distrito Esporte Clube seeks to expand its mission with the implementation of a collection of sports from the capital of Brazil, with the next step focusing on volleyball so that the sports memory of Brasília is preserved in its entirety.
