DISTRICT 21
Down syndrome is a genetic condition resulting from the presence of three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two, which affects physical, cognitive, and motor development, but does not prevent participation in sports activities when adapted to individual needs.
The District 21 Social Project arises from the need to offer structured and inclusive sports opportunities for people with Down syndrome in the Federal District, using basketball and volleyball as tools for inclusion, promoting social inclusion, improving quality of life, developing motor, cognitive, and socio-emotional skills, and strengthening self-esteem and autonomy.

Volleyball
Aulas práticas voltadas para o aprendizado de fundamentos como saque, recepção e bloqueio, com adaptações como bolas mais leves, redes mais baixas, maior tempo para execução dos movimentos e estímulos visuais e táteis.
Basketball
Aulas práticas focadas no desenvolvimento de habilidades como arremesso, passe, drible e trabalho em equipe. As regras serão adaptadas para atender às capacidades dos participantes, com ênfase em movimentos simplificados e estímulos visuais e táteis.
